Vacation & Leave Policy
Paid Time off
Every permanent employee at Terasol starts with the standard leave allowance outlined below. Interns, Trainee, Contractual Developers along with employees in their probation and notice period have limited access to benefits and leaves.
  • For the purpose of leave, “year” shall mean the calendar year commencing from 1st Jan - 31st Dec.
  • The Casual Leaves, Privilege leave will be credited in advance, once in six months i.e. on 1st January, and 1st July, every year. Sick leave shall be credited on 1st January of every Year.
  • Leave must be applied through Zoho app/portal and sanction to be taken before proceeding on leave.
  • None of the leaves can be applied for 'past dates'.
Type
Procedure
Casual Leaves
- 6 days per year; will lapse at the end of the year - CL can be availed for half day also - Cannot be availed for more than 3 days at a stretch.
Sick Leaves
- 6 days per year. Credited once on 1st January.
- No limit on accumulation; Cannot be en-cashed. - SL can be availed for half day also
Privilege Leave
-12 days per year; will lapse at the end of the year.
-Will be credited in advance, once in six months i.e. on 1st January, and 1st July, every year. -Cannot be availed for half day. PL can be availed for minimum 1 day and max 6 days per application and have to be applied 7 days in advance. -Minimum Gap (in days) between two applications should be 30 days.
Compensatory Off (C - Off)
- Employees are eligible for C-Off, if they work on weekly off/ national holiday. - C-Off shall have to be availed within 30 days from date of work, else it will lapse

4 weeks sabbatical after every 4 years of employment that can be taken to pursue personal/professional growth opportunities in the areas of career development or volunteerism.
Maternity Leave
-Maternity benefit will be 26 weeks of which not more than 8 weeks shall precede the date of expected delivery.
- Eligibility subject to a minimum of 80 days of working in 12 months immediately preceding the date of confinement.
Paternity Leaves
-For a period of 15 days before or up to six months from the date of delivery of the child. If paternity leave is not taken within 6 months of the birth of child, it is treated as lapsed.
Leave without Pay
- A maximum of 90 days leave without pay in a year (i.e. 90 calendar days inclusive of all holidays/ Sundays), in case all types of leave is exhausted.
Bereavement Leaves
-This leave is a grant paid time off from work to employees for the death of a relative. Employees are eligible for up to 7 days leave, if necessary, in the event of the death of an immediate family member (defined as parents, grandparents, siblings, spouse, children and in-laws).
Restricted Holidays
-Maximum 2 leaves will be granted from the list of Restricted Holidays mentioned.
We encourage you to take time off work. Let's face it deadlines are a reality and sometimes you will need to work extra hours. Talk to your manager and schedule some time off.

Guidelines on how to apply for leaves

We use ZOHO HRMS to automate the leave management process. Please login to your account and apply for a leave.
  • If it's a planned leave inform your manager and team on slack. (Update your Slack Status for team)
  • If you're applying for a sick leave drop a message on slack and let your manager know.

Miscellaneous

  • If any employee is out of leaves it will be considered unpaid.
  • When working from home if deliverables are not met the manager can mark you for half the day. This will however be communicated with you.
  • Any planned leave will not be permitted during the notice period or during probation.
  • Unused leaves will not be encashed and only sick leaves are forwarded to the next cycle.
